French Days of the Week

Learning the days of the week in French is an essential step for beginners. Here is a table with the seven days of the week and their pronunciations:

Using the Days of the Week
To say "on Monday," use the preposition "le" before the day of the week:

To say "from Monday to Friday," use the preposition "du" before the first day of the week and "au" before the last day of the week:
Du lundi au vendredi, je travaille. (From Monday to Friday, I work.)
You can also use the days of the week to express the day before or after a specific date:
La veille de Noël, c'est le 24 décembre. (The day before Christmas is December 24th.)
Le lendemain de Noël, c'est le 26 décembre. (The day after Christmas is December 26th.)
